A lawsuit filed by 15 black Tesla employees alleges they were subject to racial abuse and harassment at its factories. Workers claimed that colleagues, managers, and human resources employees made racist comments and behaved offensively on a regular basis, according to the lawsuit filed in a California court.

Tesla hit by new lawsuit alleging racial abuseTesla’s lawsuit alleges harassment mainly occurred at its Fremont factory in California, including the use of the N-word and terms such as slavery or plantation and making sexual comments. In this suit, the automaker is accused of blatant, open and unembellished race discrimination in its standard operating procedures.

According to the lawsuit, plaintiffs were assigned to physically demanding jobs or were passed over for promotions. As a result of contracting COVID-19, Montieco Justice, a production associate at Tesla’s Fremont plant, was immediately demoted after returning to the company following an unauthorized leave of absence. There are at least 10 lawsuits against the automaker alleging widespread racial discrimination or sexual harassment, including one by the California civil rights agency.

Previously, Tesla has denied any wrongdoing and claims to have policies in place to prevent and address workplace misconduct. In California, a federal judge ordered a new trial on the damages Tesla must pay to an ex-factory worker who claimed the company discriminated against him, after he turned down a $15 million award. In a lawsuit filed this month, a Tesla shareholder accused Elon Musk and Tesla’s board of directors of failing to address worker complaints and fostering a toxic workplace culture.

Egypt Maintains 19% Interest Rates Amid Easing Inflation Trends

    September 25, 2026

Egypt keeps key interest rates unchanged as inflation remains above the central bank target. (AI-generated image) Official statistics show that August’s annual urban headline inflation decreased to 14.5% from 14.9% in July. Monthly urban inflation was 0.1% in August, unchanged from July. Conversely, core inflation increased to 14.9% year-on-year from 14.7%, with monthly core inflation at 0.3%. These figures, sourced from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics and published by the central bank, reflect recent price movements. This September’s decision marked another meeting where Egypt’s benchmark rates remained unchanged. The committee also kept rates steady in May, July, and August after a 100 basis point cut in February, which lowered the deposit rate to 19.00% and the lending rate to 20.00%. In February, the central bank also reduced the required reserve ratio for commercial banks from 18% to 16%. Inflation Declines While Core Rate Edges Up Egypt’s central bank aims for an inflation rate of 7%, with a ±2 percentage point margin, on average through the fourth quarter of 2026. August’s headline inflation stayed above this target. Recent data also reveal differing trends between headline and core prices, with headline inflation easing in August while core inflation rose. The monetary policy committee explained that its latest rate decision considered current inflation trends, future outlook, and the balance of risks associated with that
