SHARJAH, UAE / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia plans to commence direct flights between Sharjah and Gdansk starting December 14, 2026. This new route will connect Sharjah International Airport with Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport five times per week, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The addition enhances direct travel options between the UAE and northern Poland, broadening Air Arabia’s network within the country. Tickets for the new service are currently available through the airline’s sales outlets.

Air Arabia sets December start for Sharjah Gdansk route
Air Arabia expands UAE-Poland links with five weekly Sharjah-Gdansk flights.

On Mondays and Saturdays, flight G9 0628 departs Sharjah at 4 p.m. and arrives in Gdansk at 8 p.m. The return, G9 0629, leaves Gdansk at 8:50 p.m., reaching Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. the next day. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, flights from Sharjah are scheduled for 8:15 a.m., with return flights leaving Gdansk at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Sharjah at 10:25 p.m. All times listed are local.

Once operational, Gdansk will be Air Arabia’s fourth Polish destination from Sharjah, complementing existing services to Krakow and Warsaw Chopin Airport. Additionally, Air Arabia will introduce four weekly flights to Katowice from December 17, 2026, operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. These expansions will extend the airline’s direct connectivity within Poland beyond the two cities it currently serves.

Gdansk’s Role in Air Arabia’s Growing Poland Network

The new Gdansk route is part of Air Arabia’s broader European network from Sharjah. Destinations include Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw Chopin, London Gatwick, and Rome. The airline has also announced plans to add Frankfurt and Katowice to its route map. Gdansk provides a new link on Poland’s Baltic coast, offering travelers in the Pomeranian region direct scheduled flights to the UAE via Sharjah.

Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali highlighted the significance of Gdansk’s addition to their Polish network. Gdansk Airport President Tomasz Kloskowski emphasized the importance of the direct Sharjah connection for the Pomeranian area, noting the airport’s role as a transfer hub for destinations in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and East Africa. Gdansk Airport serves the Tri-City metropolitan area, which includes Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot, along with other northern Polish communities.

Five Weekly Flights Linking Sharjah and Gdansk

Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. Tickets for the Gdansk route are available via its website, call center, and travel agents. The schedule assigns G9 0628 and G9 0629 to the Monday and Saturday flights, while Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday flights will operate as G9 0626 from Sharjah and G9 0627 from Gdansk. The five weekly nonstop flights will operate in both directions between the two airports.

The launch of the Gdansk route on December 14 precedes the start of the airline’s Katowice services by three days. With Krakow and Warsaw already in the network, these new routes will bring Air Arabia’s Polish destinations to four. Passengers from Gdansk will enjoy five nonstop weekly options each way, according to the current schedule. As of August 26, 2026, Air Arabia maintains the December 14 launch date and the five-flight weekly operation for the Sharjah-Gdansk route.

    September 5, 2026

NEW YORK / RankWire.AI / – In a historic move toward more accurate cartography, the United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution backed by the African Union that calls on international organizations and educational systems to phase out distorted world map projections. This initiative addresses longstanding criticism of the 1569 Mercator projection, which inflates high-latitude land areas and diminishes the size of equatorial regions. By endorsing equal-area alternatives, the assembly seeks to align global mapping standards with factual geographical data and reduce Eurocentric biases in worldwide communication.
